Vaccine developed by Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline triggers “insufficient immune response”: Europa FM

Pharmaceutical giants Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline have announced that the anticoronavirus vaccine they have developed has shown an insufficient immune response in the clinical trials.

The companies say they will explore other options, the BBC reports.

Sanofi said the vaccine triggered an unsatisfactory immune response in the elderly.

The experts used conventional technologies to produce the vaccine in the laboratory.

In contrast, Pfizer and BioNTech used a new technology. Their vaccine is used in immunization campaigns started in the UK, Bahrain and Canada.
