Ernst Kuipers of the National Network for Acute Care (LNAZ) is once again advocating that people receive a booster shot more quickly. He would prefer that all people over 60 are currently eligible for a booster shot, instead of being called up per year of birth. He says that in the NPO Radio 1 program Sven on 1.
“The focus is now mainly on boosteren of people who had their vaccine at least seven months ago. But I think it is sensible for the booster campaign to be accelerated,” he says. “If I only look at people aged sixty and older, there are about 4.5 million in the Netherlands. Give them all a booster as soon as possible.”
“That’s not to say you shouldn’t do the other after that, but this broad age range first, rather than calling people down very slowly by year of birth.”
Today it was announced that people born in 1946 and 1947 can make an appointment for a booster shot. Everyone born after those years will have their turn later.
