The first vaccination has been made in Australia. That happened at Prime Minister Morrison in a nursing home in Sydney. “This is the start of a big one game change“said the prime minister after receiving the injection.” From now on every day will become a little more normal.
In addition to Morrison, the residents and employees of the home were also vaccinated. They received the vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech, the first doses of which arrived at Sydney airport this week.
Some 4 million of the approximately 25 million Australians are scheduled to be vaccinated by the end of March, starting with healthcare workers and nursing home residents.
Australia has weathered the corona pandemic better than many Western countries. Just under 29,000 infections have been diagnosed since the outbreak. The official death toll stands at 909.
