Vaccinations in Poland. Gdansk. The UCK vaccination center is suspending its activity

“As we have received information from the Government Strategic Reserves Agency that we will not receive any doses of the Pfizer vaccine until the end of May, we are forced to suspend our operations” – reported the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk. Several thousand people must be re-registered. The President of the Strategic Reserves Agency claims, in turn, that the deliveries of preparations “are proceeding according to the schedule”.

The vaccination point in the hall of the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk is suspended from Wednesday. The UCK information was provided on Tuesday in social media. According to Jakub Kraszewski, the managing director of the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk, until the end of May and in June, vaccination with Pfizer will be continued only for the second dates.

– Several thousand people must be re-registered for other dates – said Kraszewski on TVN24. “The facts are that we ran out of vaccines, they didn’t reach us, and we’re vaccinating with Pfizer’s vaccines,” he added.

As he said, from the beginning it was planned that 100,000 vaccinations would take place in May. – We also made such a declaration during the Prime Minister’s stay, we informed the government agency responsible for the supply of vaccines about the daily capacity of 4,300 – explained Kraszewski.

On Monday, Kraszewski informed about how well their vaccination is doing– over four thousand people were vaccinated here daily. During 18 days, nearly 73,000 people were vaccinated.

– We are counting on the fact that in June, when there are twice as many vaccines as in May, this point will work normally – added Kraszewski.

“I don’t see any problems”

In turn, Michał Kuczmierowski, president of the Strategic Reserves Agency, said in an interview on TVN24 that vaccines “reach UCK all the time, regularly, according to the agreed schedule.”

– I do not see any reason for such declarations and actions that are currently being taken by the management, the more so as UCK has received 42,000 vaccines in May and the next deliveries are planned for another 40,000 vaccines. This is a number that shows that these vaccinations can be carried out safely – said Kuczmierowski.

He added that UCK has abandoned the supply of around 30,000 non-Pfizer vaccines. When the lecturer replied that there were no people willing to get other vaccines, he said that there was such interest in other points.

– We do not force vaccinations on anyone, even if the point vaccinates, despite the offer resigns from a delivery, we are satisfied, because thanks to this we can provide such supplies to points that are waiting, which can easily find people willing. It does not worry us, on the contrary – said the president.

– It is incomprehensible to me, because half of 80,000 vaccines have already arrived, half will still be transported, these are agreed and confirmed transports. I don’t see any problems – he concluded
