The falling number of corona deaths is related to the vaccinations that have started. More and more people over 60 have had a first vaccination against the corona virus and many people over 80 have already been injected twice.
In the past four weeks, a total of 21 deaths have been linked to Covid-19. Those are numbers recorded weekly in January and February, with a low of 41 corona deaths in the sixth week of 2021.
Infections remain stably high
The number of established infections remains stably high. The past seven days 1505 Frisians tested positive, almost 3 percent more than a week earlier. It seems that about the same number of residents of Friesland have had themselves tested: more than 15,000. The find rate rose slightly to 9.1 percent.
The pressure on Frisian hospitals is barely diminishing. There were 78 corona patients on Thursday, 28 of whom were on the IC. This is mainly due to a growing proportion of covid patients from outside the region. On Thursday there were sixty, ten more than on Tuesday.
