Vaccination for children between 12 and 13 years of age will begin this Monday, said José Adrián Medina Amarillas, head of the Baja California Ministry of Health, and also estimated that 100 to 120,000 children in these age ranges will be vaccinated.
“We are going to go to schools with care modules and we are going to have the classic points in health centers, but we will have that extra vaccine at schools (…) they are going to have all the care at school, it will be personal Nursing and medical personnel, to be vigilant, will be well protected, “he added.
Regarding the biological that will be applied to this age group, Medina Amarillas stressed that the state already has the first doses of the necessary Pfizer vaccine, even the federation offered other doses as these first vaccines run out.
The Secretary of Health called on parents to send their children a responsive letter that allows the vaccination of these minors.
“Although it is true that these children are at low risk for infection, but they can bring the virus home and make their parents or grandparents infected, I ask you to be empathic, as you have always been, we are going to continue with the campaign of vaccination,” he reiterated.
To conclude, Medina Amarillas mentioned that he does not have the list of the first schools where the vaccination will be carried out, but he assured that it will be carried out in all schools in the state.
“We will go to all the schools, not in one day, we can get to a campus and in an hour we will finish, we have the children there captive,” he concluded.
