Since March 5th, seniors aged 80 and over have been allowed to travel by vaccination taxi from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to the vaccination center in the Dresden Exhibition Center. Since then, around 450 trips have been ordered from the Dresden taxi cooperative by calling 0351-211211.
From March 15, the vaccination taxi can also be booked from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling Dresden Chauffeur Service 8×8 GmbH on 0351-88888888.
The vaccination taxi can be used by anyone over 80 who is registered in Dresden and has a binding vaccination appointment at the Dresden Exhibition Center. You pay ten euros per journey, the rest of the state capital pays.
Free quick tests are well received
There is also very good demand for the rapid antigen tests, which have been offered free of charge since March 8th in a newly established rapid test section in the P3 car park of the fair. In the first four days up to Thursday, March 11th alone, 2,065 people were tested here, of which 17 tests were positive.
On average, around 150 tests per hour are possible; testing is carried out with seven testers in a two-shift system, they come from Johanniter-Unfallhilfe Dresden e. V. and the Dresden fire brigade.
Most of the rush is in the morning at 7 a.m. because people get tested before they start their day-to-day work. The situation usually eases over the morning. At lunchtime there is often a larger audience again, as well as after 4 p.m.
The quick test track is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dresden residents can be tested here once a week free of charge.
Further test centers at the start
From March 22nd, further test centers are expected to open in the district of Meißen. The first started a few days ago at the Elbland Klinikum Meißen. The following locations are planned: Coswig, Gröditz, Großenhain, Meißen, Radebeul, Radeburg, Nossen, Priestewitz and Riesa. They are operated by local authorities as well as DRK, Johanniter and ASB.
