Vaccination possible by general practitioners

From this Thursday, February 25, 53% of general practitioners in Loire-Atlantique will be able to vaccinate a few patients aged 50 to 64 with comorbidities.

The doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine should arrive this Tuesday February 23 or Wednesday February 24 in pharmacies in Loire-Atlantique. They will then be collected by volunteer doctors for their patients aged 50-64 who may have a severe form of Covid-19. Vaccination begins from February 25, depending on the actual delivery dates from pharmacies and the organization put in place by general practitioners ”,Recalls the Regional Health Agency of Pays de la Loire.

In Loire-Atlantique, 53% of the 1,325 general practitioners have ordered a first delivery. They should each receive a vial for that week.

At present, pharmacists cannot yet vaccinate in their pharmacies. This could be possible in March.
