Residents from Antwerp, Borsbeek, Wommelgem, Stabroek or Schoten who have not yet had their first corona shot, now still get that chance. On September 22, the first of a number of local vaccination points, spread over various locations in the city, will open in the ZNA Sint-Erasmus. People older than 12 years can come here every Wednesday afternoon for their first vaccination.

On Thursday September 30, a second point will also open in the ZNA Stuivenberg. In addition, the city continues to vaccinate the most vulnerable citizens in its neighbourhoods. This way everyone gets the chance to get vaccinated without an appointment.
The vaccination village VacCovid on Spoor Oost will also close on 30 September, as almost 84% of adult Antwerp residents have already received a shot. “The closure of VacCovid is not the end of the Antwerp vaccination story,” nuances Els van Doesburg (N-VA), Antwerp’s alderman for health care. “We will continue to offer a vaccine to people who have waited or did not get the chance. Hence a warm appeal for those considering it: don’t miss the opportunity to protect yourself and the people around you,” it reads.
During the remaining vaccination days, people over 18 who have not yet been vaccinated can go there for a single vaccination with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Vaccination schedules for second doses are no longer started at Spoor Oost because the term is too short to give a second shot. However, in VacCovid, the remaining second and third injections are still being completed until the closure.
People who have not yet been vaccinated can make an appointment in advance by calling the local corona information line (03.435.95.55). More information about the other vaccination points will follow shortly.
