Vaccination Operation at Lote 8 Health Center: Reinforcing Health Protection for Children with HPV and Antimeningococcal Vaccines

With the objective of accentuating the health protection of children through vaccines, a new vaccination operation was carried out at the Lote 8 health center, a community located in the west of the province.

Thus, from the direction of the aforementioned effector it was announced that during this week, vaccination was reinforced for 11-year-old girls and boys, with doses of HPV vaccines -against the Human Papilloma Virus-, the vaccine antimeningococcal, which protects against meningococcus; the acellular triple bacterial vaccine and the yellow fever vaccine.

On this occasion, the recipients of the immunization day were the schoolchildren of that age group, who attend schools No. 355 and No. 34, located respectively in the Lote 8 and Tucumancito communities.

The vaccinators announced that, according to the previous review of the vaccination cards, each of the missing vaccines was applied, in some cases starting schemes and in others, with the doses to complete them.

Similarly, they reported that in the case of boys and girls who did not attend the scheduled vaccination that day, the data was requested from the teachers “to visit them in the following days at their homes and be able to apply the necessary vaccines” in order to that the entire school group “is properly immunized and protected by vaccines.”

They commented that, like the other vaccines on the national calendar, those that children must receive at 11 years of age “prevent diseases that can seriously affect health” and that, for this reason, “it is essential to guarantee boys and girls that age, access to the corresponding vaccines”.

On this, they emphasized vaccination against HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), taking into account that its purpose is to prevent the transmission of this virus from an early age, before sexual intercourse, ensuring that the vaccine is a very useful tool. effective for its prevention “when properly applied, the scheme established with two doses”.

They recalled that HPV is a virus that is associated with the development of cervical cancer, but also other types of cancer, such as anus, penis, vagina and mouth. “And the vaccine, administered in a timely manner, is highly effective in preventing the virus.”
