Giving continuity to the vaccination campaign against COVID 19 in the province of Formosa, this Sunday 6 a new day of simultaneous inoculation was carried out with the aim of applying the fifth dose, or third reinforcement, against this virus to the elderly of 50 years, people 18 years of age and older with at-risk conditions, immunocompromised persons over 12 years of age, health care officers and strategic personnel.
In this context, the vaccination centers authorized for this purpose in the city of Formosa were the Patria club, the San Martín club, the Cinquantenaire Stadium and the Provincial Pedagogical Institute of the fifth circuit.
For their part, in inland localities, they were able to do the same in the various hospitals and respective health centers of their territory.
In this regard, María del Carmen Luna, campaign coordinator at the San Martín club intervened AGENFOR and stressed that it was a “rather busy” day.
“Until mid-morning we have applied about 200 vaccines, but the people who correspond to the beneficiary groups continue to approach, which means that we will continue to increase the number of immunized,” he specified.
As an anecdotal fact, he commented that “we found ourselves in the field with another vaccination campaign and on many occasions the elderly have approached us to ask us if we were vaccinating with the fifth dose, which means that this moment was expected”.
He also highlighted the work done by the health personnel two years ago and stated that on this occasion “we have good coordination with the nurses who come to collaborate from the various health centers”, which he felt: “it allows us to do a great job” .
“We have observed that there are people with chin straps, some because they continue to take care of themselves, others because they have a cold,” he added.
For his part, Mr. Daniel Denis, who accompanied the Health and Life militants of Group 17, said that “the pandemic is starting to be a negative memory for the whole community” and said that this is possible “thanks to vaccinations”.
“Formosa showed that the only way out of this pandemic was the vaccine,” he stressed; and she observed that on this occasion “there was a great influx of elderly people, a fundamental action”.
It should be remembered that, last Saturday as part of the Operation Solidarity for All of Our (OPNGT), in the municipalities of Lucio V. Mansilla and Villa Escolar, the application of this dose was anticipated and 18 people meeting the requirements in both the jurisdictions.
This vaccination campaign continues throughout the week in all health centers in the capital and in hospitals and health centers in the interior, so people who need to apply this third booster can come with their ID and vaccination card. .
It is important to keep in mind that those who have had the disease will only be able to apply this vaccine 90 days after diagnosis; and, those who have not been infected, can do so if 120 days have passed since the last application of the corresponding dose against COVID.
