Vaccination of children as a key to mass immunity? Czech parents are hesitant. SURVEY

Pfizer / BioNTech is approved as the only vaccine for children 12 to 15 years of age in the European Union. Moderna is also seeking permission. According to experts, the use of her vaccine for a group of older children could be approved by about mid-July.

“Vaccination of children is comparable in safety to vaccination of adults and there are no warning signs, the studies were conducted. The vaccine is safe and can be used for children without any worries,” assures the chairman of the Czech Vaccine Society Roman Chlíbek.

Children under the age of fifteen, including those under the age of 15, must come to the vaccination accompanied by a legal representative. He must give them permission to be vaccinated.

“It is important that the information that is filled in the vaccine form is confirmed by a legal representative. Therefore, the quality of the information is verified – if the child is taking any medication. Undoubtedly, we feel parental interest here, they call us and ask for that vaccination, “says pediatrician Hana Cabrnochová.

A separate register will be launched to register children for vaccination. Children will be vaccinated only in selected vaccination centers. Especially in hospitals that have pediatric wards. It is not yet clear how many such vaccination sites there will be. However, a pediatrician will have to be present in each.

Children from the age of twelve are already vaccinating, for example, in Israel or the United States. According to doctors, vaccinating young people is an important step in gaining collective immunity in the population.

Parents and children themselves are on dragonflies with covid vaccination:

“If we do not vaccinate the entire population, we will not get rid of the virus. So as many children as possible should be vaccinated before school starts, so that we do not have to close schools again,” says Milan Kubek, president of the Czech Medical Chamber.

In Germany, for example, the vaccination commission does not recommend widespread vaccination of children. According to her, only those with health problems should be vaccinated.

Vaccination of children is a way to a normal life, said doctor Jana Kulhánková:
