“Vaccination is the first civic duty” – SWR Aktuell

In his address on the situation in Baden-Württemberg, the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Kretschmann described getting vaccinated as the “first civic duty”.

Non-vaccinated people would have to expect restrictions in the fall with the significantly increasing corona incidence numbers. This is what Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) said in his address on the situation in Baden-Württemberg. Then, for example, visits to restaurants or the cinema would only be possible with a negative corona test. And even that is not certain.

Kretschmann: “Those who have been vaccinated must expect disadvantages”

In his address, Kretschmann pointed out that those who were tested ultimately had a higher risk of infection than those who had been vaccinated. People who consciously decided against vaccination – for no medical reason – could not enjoy the same freedoms as those who had been vaccinated, given the increasing incidence. In addition, you have to expect to have to pay for the tests yourself if you forego the vaccination offer, said the Prime Minister.

“Only a high vaccination rate can get out of this whole mess.”

He also appealed for solidarity between adults and children and young people. Above all, they should have withdrawn very much in the pandemic: “They couldn’t go to school, not to the sports club and they could only meet a few friends. They did it to protect their parents and grandparents. Now we are adults turn to show solidarity by getting vaccinated. ” Vaccination, according to Kretschmann, is the way to freedom and therefore the first civic duty. This is now also possible in the supermarket parking lot, the hurdles are extremely low.

The entire address by Prime Minister Kretschmann will be broadcast on July 31 from 7:52 p.m. on SWR television.
