When will the vaccination start?
Great Britain began to vaccinate earlier than Western European countries. The member states of the European Union must wait for the approval of the European Medicines Agency, but it will probably issue its opinion at the end of the year at the earliest. However, the Czech government already has a vaccination plan in place.
The first phase of vaccination against a new type of coronavirus will begin after the approval of the vaccine; by the end of the year, the Ministry of Health expects that there will be vaccine doses in the Czech Republic for about 400,000 people. More will be coming in the coming months, so by the end of March more than a million people could get them.

Who gets the vaccine?
In the first wave, vaccines will reach at-risk patients – the elderly, the chronically ill, ie people who have difficulty breathing, heart or obesity – but also healthcare professionals and social workers.
In the second stage (the ministry refers to it as phase IB), more than two and a half million people will be vaccinated to run the state and key infrastructure – firefighters, police, soldiers and power, teachers, as well as members of the government and crisis staffs. Others who are interested in vaccinations will have to wait for the third wave. It is not clear when it will be.

Although the state has a plan for the pace at which vaccines will arrive, it does not know how interested they will be. He must prepare for the fact that at first the interest in them could exceed the offer – millions of people fall into the first stage, but only one million vaccines will arrive by the end of March. It is not yet clear who will have priority.
On the other hand, the ministry expects to “merge the individual stages of vaccination” in the event of a sufficient supply of vaccines.
The total number of vaccines should be enough for everyone. So far, the state has ordered them for less than seven million people and is negotiating for more.
Where will he be vaccinated?
It will first be vaccinated in hospital vaccination centers, which can also be assisted by mobile vaccination teams. They have not yet received detailed instructions on what to prepare. When the vaccine becomes available and can be stored in a regular refrigerator, GPs will start vaccinating against coronavirus.
There will be most work left for them. But they will need not only the vaccines themselves, but also millions of syringes. The state should secure them.

In addition, doctors are still waiting for detailed instructions. “We will need relatively quickly very detailed information about who, when, under what circumstances. That ‘s not planned. I assume that we will find out in the coming days, “said the chairman of the Association of General Practitioners, Petr Šonka.
