Vaccination in Germany – the Ministry of Health recommended to vaccinate children with chronic diseases

The Standing Commission on Vaccinations (STIKO) at the Robert Koch Institute of Virology does not consider it necessary to obligatorily vaccinate all children aged 12 to 17 against coronavirus. She recommends vaccinating only those children who have any chronic diseases.

“STIKO recommends vaccination of children and adolescents with pre-existing medical conditions with Pfizer mRNA vaccine due to the perceived increased risk of severe COVID-19 disease. The use of the drug in children and adolescents aged 12-17 years without preexisting diseases is not recommended,” message.

However, the commission believes that completely healthy children and adolescents can be vaccinated at the personal request of their parents after consulting a doctor.
