Vaccination: Health will cut at noon to specify availability of doses – Nationals

Since last night and early hours of this Saturday, many adults over 55 years of age and older have already approached the vaccination centers to be able to receive the anti-COVID doses. The influx of people is important in each place, so it is doubtful that there are biologicals available to everyone.

In this regard, Dr. Martínez pointed out that at noon they will cut the number of vaccinated in order to know the availability of the doses. He affirmed that they will inform the citizens about the news. “We are going to make the first cut at noon. Dr. Héctor Castro (director of the PAI) will surely announce it. Let’s see the number of people. There are a lot of people, “he said.

Likewise, he urged citizens qualified for immunization to come to the different places to receive the doses. “It does not matter that the doses are finished. The important thing is that as many as possible can be immunized. The vaccine gives life ”, declared.

Likewise, the vice minister pointed out that the schedule – until 5:00 p.m. – would be extended in case there are doses available and people who have not yet been immunized. He stressed that the objective is to vaccinate the largest number of adults on this day. “Today has to be the day when as many people as possible are vaccinated,” he said.

Likewise, Dr. Hernán Martínez said that they will analyze starting the day earlier, Sunday, considering that there are people who have already been waiting for their turn from a previous night.

When asked if there is information on the upcoming arrival of more doses, he said that there are commitments to release biologicals by the producers, but indicated that he still does not have the precise dates.

On the other hand, the Health official assured that there will be Sputnik V biologicals for those who must receive their second application with this vaccine. Nor could it specify any date of remission of these biologics.

From Monday, people of legal age will be able to register, which, as indicated, will serve for the future planning of the vaccination campaign. In this sense, Dr. Martínez indicated that the prioritization system will possibly be being used and stated that in principle it would be according to risk factors. He announced that there will be news about it next week.

What is the situation regarding inputs?

The Deputy Minister of Comprehensive Care also spoke about the public health situation in terms of supplies. He pointed out that there are currently problems in the provision of disposable gloves, so they do not count in hospitals.

So he also indicated that they are not counting on some antibiotic drugs. He affirmed that they are insisting with the contracted companies for the immediate provision of these inputs, since he indicated that they are awarded lots.

In this context, he also referred that the low availability of these and other supplies is due to the bureaucracy in which they must make the awards, considering that the current law does not allow the Ministry of Health to apply direct purchases. “As a Ministry we cannot make direct purchases. Health cannot wait for these deadlines for the delivery of medicines and supplies in 25 days ”, he questioned.

Regarding the oxygen situation, Dr. Martínez pointed out that there are still difficulties in the supply, but stressed that Acepar’s production is a great relief for Salud. In addition, authorities indicated they will go abroad in search of acquiring prefabricated plants, thus being able to accelerate with the plan of a production system in each departmental head. “The oxygen issue continues to be a concern, but at least we have the supply of Acepar that will give us an important oxygen,” he said.
