“Vaccination Efforts in Schools and Hospitals in Tucumán, Argentina”

The head of the Operational Area and director of the Simoca hospital, Dr. Silvina Rivas Jordán, provided details about the work they have been carrying out in terms of vaccination, taking coverage to different places such as schools in the Atahona, Monteagudo, Chicligasta and Manuela Pedraza area. .

“We are working together on vaccination activities, we went through difficult situations with Covid, and when the vaccination was done, fortunately Tucumán managed to have 95% coverage. Now we are taking into account that bronchiolitis and influenza are among the most frequent diseases of this time and in this context we are reinforcing vaccination of children and adults and especially of people at risk, both in the hospital and in the different schools in the interior. , such as Atahona, Monteagudo, Chicligasta, Manuela Pedraza ”, explained the directive.

Regarding the coverage in educational institutions, Rivas Jordán commented that immunizations are being carried out at the Normal School and all those that can be covered within the operational area: “The reception of the people is very good, they come closer, in the schools we first send the informed consent so that parents know and accompany their children, which is the most important thing, people are happy, because they see that we are completing all the necessary schemes”, he said.

Following this line, the professional emphasized that the current recommendation from the Ministry of Public Health, in charge of Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, is to urge patients who have already passed more than six months since receiving the last Covid vaccine, to apply a new reinforcement that allows maintaining strong immunity to prevent severe forms of the disease.

“Receiving the Covid vaccine does not mean that they will not get infected. What we want from the Ministry of Health is to avoid the serious forms of this disease, in order to avoid the situations that we have been through so complicated and difficult. Here we have a sufficient quantity of vaccines for all ages and we also have the paracetamol that is customary to give along with the vaccine, ”he concluded.
