For the middle of this month the vaccination of children from the age of 5 is scheduled.

The anti-COVID-19 vaccination is maintained with attention to adolescents from the age of 12 and to groups lagging behind in health centers, educational institutions and three municipal centers that report low attendance in recent days.
Personnel who work in these vaccinations indicated that as many adolescents already attended immunization with their parents, the demand has decreased in recent days, as well as people who go for the first time or for dose reinforcement such as Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer or application single dose of CanSino.
Today, at the Mucho Lote 1 vaccination center, in the north, dozens of mothers arrived with their children and the respective approval certificate for the Pfizer vaccine.
Bella Jiménez, a resident of Balerio Estacio, commented that her two children, 13 and 15 years old, who study at the Tránsito Amaguaña school, could not attend the call, so she took them in a private way so that the doses could be applied.
Likewise, laggards arrived at that vaccination center, such as a 59-year-old citizen who suffers from mental problems. His sister commented that the doctor did not give him vaccination authorization because he had a crisis, with the passing of the months he was able to recover and gave him the authorization.
For the third week of October, the vaccination of children from 5 to 11 years old is planned, according to the Government.
The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón Villalba, asked the population that has not yet been vaccinated to go to health centers to receive their respective doses, to prevent a possible outbreak of COVID-19, due to the relaxation that has been detected in the country.
“There is a slight increase in infections at the community level because a percentage of the population over 18 years of age has not received the vaccine. We have not yet reached 85%, that is, to community immunity. As much as the Government takes care of us, protects us and has given us vaccines, we need co-responsibility. If we relax, restrictive measures must be taken, ”said the minister last week. (I)
