Authorities from both sides of the border announced a vaccination day that will take place this March 9 and 10 in the vicinity of the crossing between Mexicali and Calexico, at the East port of entry.
Joaquín Jiménez Arriaga, president of Index Mexicali, explained that the vaccination will be carried out in the vicinity of the United States Customs and Protection, where pedestrian traffic will be facilitated.
The binational effort is intended for people over 18 years of age and there is no requirement to receive the biological, only those who have already given a first dose are asked to bring a receipt.
It was reported that on Wednesday the day will be from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Jeanette Ángulo, director of Public Health of Imperial, explained that 1,500 vaccines will be donated, between these first and second doses, as well as reinforcements.
Above all, the event is aimed at Mexicali maquiladora personnel and first responders.
The biologicals that will be offered correspond to the pharmaceutical companies Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
