Vaccination Coverage in Chihuahua: Statistics and Trends

At the end of 2018, the estimate of vaccination coverage included in the INEGI Health and Nutrition Surveys was, with the reinforcement of the diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus vaccine in children aged 5 to 6 years 11 months, 66.1 %, less than the coverage at the national level, which at that time was 79.4%.

Coverage with at least one dose of tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and Pentavalent Acellular vaccines (diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, and type B influenza infections) in children 5 to 6 years 11 months of age, was lower in Chihuahua ( 77.5%) than at the national level (86.9%).

In 2017 in children 5 to 6 years 11 months, coverage with at least one dose of SRP was 78.8% in Chihuahua, lower than the national estimate (89.8%).

In this same age group, coverage with two doses of SRP was 40.5% in Chihuahua and 37.1% at the national level, thus the entity exceeded the national average.

In children between 12 and 23 months of age, vaccination coverage with the full (current) scheme was 19.8% in Chihuahua, higher than the national average coverage (19.0%).

Coverage with the four-vaccination scheme that includes tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and Acellular Pentavalent (diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, and influenza-type infections) was 18.7% in Chihuahua, and 19.8% on average at the national level.
