This was confirmed the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, by saying that the country is heading to use the QR code, which is included in said certificate, which endorses the vaccination scheme complete for all public events.
“Costa Rica is directed to use the qr code vaccination against COVID-19 as a requirement for all public events, ”said the President.
Alvarado assured that the decision was made at a meeting of the National Commission for Vaccination and Epidemiology (CNVE), which will communicate how said decision will proceed.
The government is clear that it will not be fully utilized in the following days and will be implemented gradually until it is a mandatory requirement for each social activity.
The President also commented that he is measure has been supervised in several pilot plans applied previous days and that if implemented, it could help reduce sanitary restrictions.
At the moment, dates and the procedure to follow are unknown, but it is expected that during the day the communications in this regard will be issued.
