The Ministry of Health reported that the vaccination centers against COVID-19 in Lima and Callao will not open this Monday, July 26, due to the fact that it seeks to give a break to the brigadistas who have had long days of vaccination and the need to take stock of the process.
The announcement comes while the third vaccination is being developed in Lima and Callao, in which it is planned that 250,000 doses of the vaccine against this disease will be applied. It is expected that from Tuesday the process will reestablish normality. The press office of the Minsa indicated to Management that the vaccination process for those over 40 will continue on Tuesday, July 27.
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that until this Sunday, July 25, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose amounts to 7’467,462. Meanwhile, the total of citizens immunized with two doses is 4’415,035 until 7:00 am today.
So far, Peru has received three million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than six million from Pfizer and more than 400,000 from the Covax Facility (from AstraZeneca and Pfizer). All of these apply to health personnel, the elderly, members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Firefighters, included in the first phase of the National Vaccination Plan.
Both the Sinopharm, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines must be given in two doses to immunize a person against COVID-19.
