The Ministry of Health (Minsa) has invited the population to comply with the vaccination scheme against COVID-19. This request has been made as a result of the appearance of the new EG.5 variant, also known as Eris, which would be involved with the latest increase in infections worldwide.
“Booster vaccination against COVID-19 is the safest and most effective measure to prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death against all strains of the virus that causes COVID-19,” says the Minsa, who also advises keeping ventilated environments and still wear a mask in the event of any persistence of respiratory symptoms.
Despite the recommendation, the anticovid vaccination centers in Lima have barely registered a slight increase in people attending to be immunized, according to RPP Noticias. In order to encourage completion of the vaccination scheme, the different immunization points that are distributed throughout the capital and in Callao have been revealed.
