Vaccination Campaign Against the Human Papillomavirus in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, September 8, 2023.- The GTO Health System has 3,500 doses against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) for the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.

Through Health Jurisdiction 2 with headquarters in this heritage city, an attentive call is made to all women to be vaccinated against the Human Papillomavirus during the campaign that will be carried out from next Monday, September 11 to Friday. October 6.

With the aim of preventing this sexually transmitted infection that can have serious health consequences.

The age groups that must go to receive the vaccine are the following:

Girls in the 5th and 6th grade of primary school, as well as girls aged 11 and 12 who are not in school. Girls in the 1st grade of secondary school and 13-year-old girls who are not in school. Lagging girls in the 2nd and 3rd grade of secondary school, who are 14 and 15 years old and are not in school. Cisgender and transgender women ages 11 to 49 living with HIV.

The application of the vaccine will be carried out at the San Miguel de Allende Health Center.

It is important that those who wish to be vaccinated carry the following requirements:

3.- Signature of the informed consent signed by the parent or guardian in case of being a minor. This document is requested in medical units.

For girls who are in school, health personnel will travel to primary and secondary schools to administer the vaccine. Where the participation of all educational staff and parents will be vital.

It is essential to remember that genital infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted infection that affects more than half of sexually active people at some point in their lives.
