“Vaccination Campaign against Influenza in Buenos Aires District: Dates and Prioritized Groups”

Good Luck, DE May 19, Vaccination days continue in the District to protect all citizens against various diseases, this time it is against influenza.

Spokesmen for the Ministry of Health affirmed that the week of the intensification will be from next Tuesday the 23rd to Saturday the 27th of May.

“All the IPS of the District will have the vaccine available for the infant population from 6 to 23 months of age; pregnant women, from week 14, who will be given a dose and people over 60 years of age,” explained Julieth Velásquez Coy, coordinator of the Expanded Immunization Program – PAI, of the District Health Secretariat.

Emphasis will also be placed on patients with asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, necrotizing pneumonia, pleural effusion, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis and those with morbid obesity, that is, those whose Body Mass Index is equal to or greater to 40.

The official also invited people immunosuppressed by HIV, cancer, or by the use of immunosuppressive drugs (steroids, chemotherapy, transplants) to be vaccinated.

Among the prioritized people are those who are receiving hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis; with chronic liver diseases and those with diabetes mellitus with associated comorbidities such as insulin-requiring, heart disease, nephropathy, neuropathy.

Also, those who have high blood pressure with complications such as heart failure and valve disease; likewise, congenital, rheumatic and ischemic heart diseases.
