The Ministry of Health (Sometimes) announced that its vaccination brigades will provide assistance against COVID-19, influenza and pneumococcus to users of the Pensión 65 program in various regions of the country, within the framework of the project ‘Pension Sundays 65’which will be developed this August 13 in different locations of the National bank around Peru.
Along the same lines, the entity indicated the points where the inoculation will take place: Huaraz (Áncash); Ayacucho; Cajamarca and Jaen (Cajamarca); Santo Tomás and Sicuani (Cusco); Huanuco; Pichanaqui (Junín); Iquitos and Yurimaguas (Loreto); Piura; Juliaca (Puno); Moyobamba and Nueva Cajamarca (San Martin); and Callería (Ucayali).
Through this initiative, older adults will have the possibility of collecting their pension and completing their vaccination through the health brigades of the Sometimes. Likewise, the health agency stressed that it is essential that people over 60 years of age are up to date with the influenza and pneumococcal vaccines, since, in this way, will remain protected from complications of respiratory diseases.
Similarly, he reported that, after the World Health Organization (OMS) has added a new variant (EG.5) to the list of those “of interest” for COVID-19, older adults should be doubly immunized with the bivalent vaccine, at an interval of four months from the last dose received, in order to develop greater protection against the virus.
