The fact is that a batch of these drugs expires in the fall of this year. Thus, the Ministry of Health plans to use them as efficiently as possible. Of course, expired drugs will not be vaccinated.
We are talking about AstraZeneca, which has about 3 million doses left in the regional warehouses, its suitability expires in October-November, as well as 1.1 million doses of Pfizer due to the end of November and the end of December.
“On average, Ukraine makes 120-150 thousand vaccinations during the day and about a million during the week. Therefore, this amount can actually be used until the end of the shelf life,” Kuzin said.
In order to use the drugs as efficiently as possible, they plan to distribute them across the regions.
According to him, vaccines will be redistributed between regions so as not to lose a single dose as much as possible.
At the same time, the first to be used in the country is precisely such a vaccine, the expiration date of which is coming to an end. That is, first of all, immunization will be carried out with the drugs AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
