Vaccination against coronavirus for people between 15 and 19 years old Colombia – Health

This Saturday, August 21, the vaccination against covid-19 will begin for people between 15 and 19 years old, according to the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz.

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health of this Thursday, August 19, in Colombia there were 3,193 new cases of covid-19.

This, after 56,621 tests were processed (24,808 of PCR and 31,813 of antigens). In addition, 120 deaths from the coronavirus.

Since this week, Minsalud had reported that Colombians between 20 and 24 years old can go to get vaccinated without having a scheduled appointment.

This Thursday, the agency also stated that 32’463,196 doses of vaccine have been applied. Of this number, 18,505,092 correspond to first doses; 11,283.30 with two; 2’674.724 with single doses.

This means that to date, 13,958,104 people have received the complete scheme in the country.

According to Gerson Bermont, director of Promotion and Prevention of the Health portfolio, in terms of coverage, the advance in complete schemes in people over 80 years of age is 81.5%; in 70-79 years, 76.2%; in 60-69 years, 65.6%; in 50-59, 50.8%; in 40-49, 28.9%; in 30-39 years, 9.4% and 25-29 years, 5.5%.

Bogotá is the place with the most doses of vaccines assigned, with a total of 6.1 million. They are followed by Antioquia, with 4.9 million and Valle del Cauca, with 3 million. These three areas, in turn, are the ones that have applied the highest number of doses.
