Juarez City.– The thousands of teachers in Ciudad Juárez who have a vaccination certificate against COVID-19 with the CanSino vaccine can now enter the United States, the United States Consulate General in Ciudad Juárez reported this afternoon.
In May, when the World Health Organization (WHO) approved the emergency use of the vaccine of Chinese origin, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added the formula to the vaccines accepted for enter your country, but only if you had the application of two doses, so the educational personnel of this border continued to be restricted.
However, the restriction has already been modified on the official CDC page, the Consulate shared.
According to the Ministry of Education, in Chihuahua 62 thousand 734 teachers were vaccinated with CanSino, 18 thousand 870 of them in this border, of which approximately 3 thousand were re-vaccinated with other formulas during the days of vaccination of laggards, but they did not manage to get a new vaccination certificate, so they could not officially cross the border.
In addition, the reinforcement that was applied to teachers and teaching staff in Juárez was of the Modern formula, which requires two doses for the United States to allow the entry of those who received them, after 14 days of its application, therefore that continued without being accepted at international crossings.
Currently, the only vaccines accepted by the CDC as single doses to enter the United States are the Janssen formula from Johnson & Johnson, and the one of Asian origin.
Those who have received at least two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxina, Coviescudo, BIBP/Sinopharm, Sinovac, Novavax, Covovax and CansinoBIO vaccines can also enter the country.
