Boys and girls who turn 10 in 2022 will receive an invitation in November to get the HPV vaccination. HPV is a highly contagious virus. The vaccine protected against six types of cancer caused by HPV.
Vaccination for girls and boys
Girls have been vaccinated against HPV since 2010. An HPV infection can also cause cancers in men. That’s why it’s important to vaccinate kids so they’re protected against HPV cancer as well. In addition, vaccination contributes to the protection of the population against HPV and HPV-related cancer: the more people are immune to an infection, the less likely it is to spread.
