Guatemala City, May 13 (AGN).- The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) continues to provide medical care to Guatemalans residing in the most remote communities in the country. Through the Vaccina Móvil plan, residents of communities in the department of Quiché and El Progreso benefited from the health days organized by the Ministry of Health.
On this occasion, the health personnel invited the residents to come to the mobile units and be attended by health and nutrition professionals.
On the other hand, the entity announced that the initiative has fulfilled 15 weeks since its implementation and has benefited hundreds of Guatemalans.
Some of the departments visited are:
- chiquimula
- jalapa
- Alta Verapaz
- Huehuetenango
- Saint Mark
- totonicapán
- the Ixil and Ixcán areas, Quiché

Services
During the service days, various services are offered with the support of the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP). Between these:
- vaccination against various diseases
- general inquiry
- control prenatal
- pap smear
- vaccination for children under 5 years
- dewormers and vitamins
- complementary food
- Weight and height control for children under 5 years of age
- Family planning
- supplement to the vaccination schedule against COVID-19
health brigades
Under the objective of supporting more communities in health issues, the Mobile Vaccine brigades are coordinated by the MSPAS, which identifies the most vulnerable areas with difficult access to these services.
The groups are made up of nutrition and support staff with experience in nursing and promotion of medical services.
With the health personnel of each of the regions, the aim is to identify cases of acute malnutrition in children under 5 years of age to initiate or follow up on treatments that help to counteract these conditions.
