An exciting opportunity has become available in our Academy for an experienced education manager.
This role supports the Education Officer in implementing the department’s strategy and will coordinate and oversee the Day Release program within the Academy, including liaising with schools and educational tutors, and to help support any other educational initiative through the Academy.
Reporting to the education officer, the education officer will:
- Support the education manager to implement the department’s and Academy’s holistic development strategy.
- Coordinate the day trip program within the youth development phase.
- Coordinate and manage the specialist tutors who support the Day Release program.
- Liaise closely with all schools and parents of players on the Day Release program.
- Provide regular reports and keep tracking data on the academic progress of each individual within the day out program.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach by working in close collaboration with the other departments of the Academy.
- Contribute to regular weekly evaluations of 6 to 12 players of players involved in education programs.
- Arrange the safe transportation of Day Release players to and from the training ground and education venues in accordance with safeguard policies.
- Attend weekly operational meetings and phase-specific meetings, as well as organize and attend all external meetings organized by the league.
- Support the informal life skills program for all school-aged players through all phases (age-appropriate program).
- Liaise with released U16 players, parents and schools to ensure a smooth transition and academic performance.
- Support the Education Officer in liaising with players, parents and schools for U9-U12 to ensure holistic support for every player in the Academy.
- Present and coordinate education initiatives for stakeholders during the founding phase.
- Support the education officer in the delivery of the U18 basic program (apprenticeship).
- To understand and implement the club’s safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. Use this understanding to ensure safe work practices, appropriate reporting of concerns, and positively contribute to a safe environment.

An ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- GCSE level 5 / C or above in Mathematics and English.
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational environment.
- Excellent understanding of the secondary and / or primary education system.
- Previous experience coordinating programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build trust and relationships.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and welfare.
Desirable:
- A teaching qualification (eg PGCE, QTS / QTLS).
- Minimum of FA level 2 Coaching Football.
- Previous experience working in a high performance environment (preferably within a football academy).
- Previous experience in leading groups of young people traveling.
- Previous experience in Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) apprenticeship program or similar.
