A Váci Faith Congregation is in Váci Public Life Association also spoke out in connection with the vile, inhuman terrorist attack carried out by the Hamas terrorist organization with trained killers in recent days. János Turai, at the invitation of the president of the Váci Jewish Community, nearly a hundred people lit candles on the afternoon of October 13 in the square in front of the synagogue, expressing their solidarity with the victims and their relatives, the state and citizens of Israel, and all Jewish people.
The President of the Community of Faith greeted the participants of the commemoration in the synagogue building and expressed his belief that the power of the community is huge, that there is power in the common commemoration, and then handed over the floor To Lehel Surjányiwho interpreted it To Csaba Surjányi the speech of the pastor of the Váci Faith Congregation.
The pastor’s speech touched on the fact that, after the initial shock, more and more people are calling on the Jewish state, which suffered a terrible tragedy, to show moderation and proportionality in the face of Israel’s rightful response.
“Both the immeasurable hatred and the empty side talk are proof that the world does not understand, or deliberately does not want to understand, the essence of this conflict. There is a religion and there is a people who were robbed of the holiest place of their faith by the Roman legions nearly 2,000 years ago, and the world has denied them the right of return ever since. The Jews are seen as colonizers and invaders on the holy mountain where Abraham placed Isaac on the altar and where King David bought for a fair price the land where his son Solomon built the most wonderful building of mankind, the Temple in Jerusalem.
Let it be clear once and for all: there is no religion and no people that have greater privileges regarding the Temple Mount than Judaism itself! It is one of the greatest shames in the history of mankind that they are being forced to offer a prayer in this place only by stealth and hiding! The killers of Hamas are also part of this disgrace, when they organize mass massacres in defense of “Al-Aqsa”! Just as Herzl Tivadar recognized at that time that the peoples of the world will not tolerate Judaism among themselves, therefore only their own Jewish homeland can provide protection and security for them, so today we must also recognize that Israel is in need of another exodus, because the secular international order it is just as unable to give them effective protection as it is unable to recognize its right to the land of their ancestors. This conflict will lead indirectly or directly, but ultimately inevitably, to the fact that the Jews must once again be granted the right to the holiest place of their faith!” the pastor said.
On behalf of the Váci Public Association György Selmeci President spoke about how the Association feels it is its duty to stand up for Israel in these difficult hours, as well as for people of Jewish origin living in and around our city and their relatives living in Israel. They consider the series of vile, inhuman and almost satanic, brutal executions of the civilian population of Israel, carried out in recent days by the terrorists of Hamas, who have been secretly preparing for this for a year, to be unacceptable. In his speech, he thanked Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the government for preventing the celebration of the Day of Wrath announced by the Islamic world to all its countries in our country. The outcome of events in Israel is greatly influenced by Europe, the future of Hungary and Vác as well he drew attention György Selmeci.
János Turaithe president of the Váci Jewish Community read out the message of the community, which the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Hungary, His Excellency Jácov Hadasz-Handelszman sent to Mr. Ambassador:
“We were shocked to learn that an unprecedented terrorist attack has hit Israel in recent days. Hundreds of innocent people died, thousands were injured, and many were kidnapped by terrorists. Together with Vác and the Jews of the Danube bend, friends of Israel living here, we stand up for Israel. We assure the people of Israel of our solidarity, especially the citizens of our sister city Givatayim. We share your deep grief, we are with you in the difficult hours, we hope that the murderers will receive their deserved punishment as soon as possible. Long live Israel! Long live Jerusalem!”
