UVC Weberzeile Ried fights against Amstetten for a place in the cup final

REED. The UVC Weberzeile Ried has the chance to qualify for the final in the “Austrian Volley Cup”. In the semifinals on Friday, February 12th, at 6 p.m., the Rieder will receive the VCA Amstetten NÖ in Hall 18.

Due to the corona, the game will take place without a spectator, but will be broadcast professionally for the first time with a commentator and co-commentator via live stream. Live interviews will be held before and after the game – also a premiere in Ried.

Livestream

UVC fans can follow the game from 5.45 p.m. on volleynet.at/tv and facebook.com/uvc.ried and even chat and make comments on Facebook.

UVC Marketing Director Peter Eglseer: “This involvement of the community is certainly a great opportunity in the future!”

UVC boss Roman Lutz is also looking forward to the game: “It’s a great opportunity for us to broadcast the great volleyball game live. The presentation of our valuable partners is also particularly important to me, as we currently cannot let fans into the hall. We will spare no expense and, above all, no effort to make the transmission as professional as possible. “

Reaching the finals would not only be a great sporting success for the UVC, but also economically important. The final will be broadcast live on ORF Sport plus and thus not only increase awareness but also advertising value.

At eye level

Semi-final opponent VCA Amstetten NÖ snatched the hoped-for first place and qualification for the top round from the Rieders in the basic round of the championship. In a direct comparison, however, the Rieder were twice successful.

What could speak for the team of coach Dominik Kefer: While Amstetten in the top round against the “Big Three” Aich / Dob, Graz and Waldviertel only conceded defeats, the Rieder started a winning streak in the second round and already secured two games at the end of the first place and thus the supposedly easiest draw in the championship playoff. So there should be no lack of healthy self-confidence.

Final against the master

The reigning champions, SK Zadruga Aich / Dob, are waiting for the winner of the game on February 12th. The Carinthians already qualified for the final on February 4th with a 3-1 win against Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. In the quarter-finals they eliminated the defending champion and current table leader of the top round UVC Holding Graz and thus returned the favor for the final defeat last year.

Championship against Weiz

In the championship game against VBV TLC Weiz on Saturday, the UVC continued its winning streak and won against the weakened Styrians 3-0 (25:15, 25:17, 25:18). In the first two sentences, coach Dominik Kefer sent the usual basic six onto the floor in order to be able to get in the right mood for the cup semi-finals. After that all players were used.

“Our match schedule worked out today and you saw what the team is made of when all the players can play freely. Congratulations to our young players too ”, Kefer sums up the clear home success.
