UTZAC inaugurates the 2nd International Congress of University Teaching

• Universities from different states of the Republic participate, as well as from Latin America
  
• Rector highlights the importance of these international events to publicize the benefits of Zacatecas
  

Zacatecas, Zac., June 8, 2023.- Noting that Zacatecas is an ideal entity for attracting events of international stature, Juan José Gómez Sánchez, Director of Higher Education of the Zacatecas Ministry of Education, and the Rector of the Technological University of the State of Zacatecas (UTZAC), Gonzalo Franco Garduño, inaugurated the 2nd International Congress of University Teaching (CIENU).

Franco Garduño thanked teachers, directors and rectors of the universities of Michoacán, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Spain, Andorra, as well as the Autonomous University of Zacatecas for their attendance and participation in this important event, which enriches the strategies of the new teaching in modern times.

“Education is the basis to keep our youth interested in new technologies, from which they can develop knowledge and tools that help to have a better society,” he said.

He stressed that “we are following the line that Governor David Monreal Ávila sets for us, taking education as a driving force of this Government to achieve the pacification of the territory, as well as the well-being and progress of our people.”

María del Rosario Carranza Alcántar, president of the Research Network of Teachers of Mexico, Andorra and Spain (RIDMAE), thanked the organization by UTZAC, as well as the Zacatecan Council of Science, Technology and Innovation (Cozcyt) and for giving its facilities for the realization of this Congress, which has the purpose of listening to the experiences of experts in information technologies applied to teaching.

Juan José Gómez Sánchez, Director of Higher Education of the Zacatecas Ministry of Education, on behalf of President David Monreal Ávila, celebrated the organization of this type of event in Zacatecas territory and declared the inauguration of the International Congress of University Teaching, in its second edition.

After the inauguration, David Mendoza Armas, rector of the Virtual University of Michoacán, gave the Magisterial Lecture “From NICTs to TEPAs (Technologies of Empowerment and Action)”; while, from Spain, in a virtual conference, Francisco José Gallego Durán addressed the “Secrets of Gamification and the Final Boss: PBL”.

Present at the inauguration were Bernardo Candelas de la Torre, representative of the Ministry of Public Education in Zacatecas; Esther Oralia Félix Estrada, Undersecretary of Tourism Development of the Ministry of Tourism; Hamurabi Gamboa Rosales, director of Cozcyt; as well as Diana Galaviz Tinajero, Secretary of Social Welfare of the Municipality of Guadalupe.
