JM Brazo Mena, Utrera. The dazzling artistic career of Musicians Utreran Manu Brazo (saxophone) and Pepe Fernández (piano) took a giant step by landing in Turkey with a new concert, precisely in the city of Ankara, where They will present their new album “Folk-Lore” on November 3rd.The recital will take place in the prestigious CSO Ada Ankara (Ana Salon), a state-of-the-art auditorium with a capacity of over 2,000 people.
In this debut feature film, the repertoire designed by Manu Brazo and Pepe Fernández is articulated through pieces by famous composers of the 19th and 20th centuriesof the stature of Bela Bartok, Astor Piazzolla, Vittorio Monti, Pedro Iturralde, J.Rodrigo, Gardel or García Lorca, being able to listen to works such as Las Tes Morillas, Variaciones de los cuatro Muleros, Ave María, La Nana de Sevilla, Aranjuez, Por una Cabeza, Las Czardas and Suite Hellenique, among others.
is approx a program that “breaks the barriers between classical and popular music”, as the Utrera artists said, as well as anticipating that they will complete the repertoire with some pieces of Turkish folklore. According to the artists, “in our first joint album we wanted to express ourselves with our own voice and a different style that makes it difficult to include Folk-Lore songs within a single style”.
In the same way, the musicians of Utrera explain that in the concert “classical music plays, interacts and mixes with popular music, and where flashes of flamenco, folk songs and improvisations closer to jazz are heard, breaking the limits and protocols of the tradition of classic tracks, creating a unique mix with a sound that will be totally new to the audience ”.
