Lambers (65) was director of Theater Kikker – located on the Ganzenmarkt – from 2001. From 2015 he also directed the new Podium Hoge Woerd in Leidsche Rijn.

He put Theater Kikker on the map as a substantive avant-garde theatre, loved by makers and the public,” the theater wrote in an In Memoriam. ,,Almost every evening he was in the room and afterwards shared his sharp analysis with the makers. His energy and knowledge were unbridled.”

In 2019 he said goodbye and received the Maartenspenning from the municipality of Utrecht. He was praised for his ‘important unifying force in the cultural sector in Utrecht’.
