The founder of the Technological University (UTEC), dr. José Mauricio Loucel died this Thursday, according to the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fraternity, where he had been part of the National Board of Directors. The Technological University has not yet published about it.
«We deeply regret the sensitive death of Dr. José Mauricio Loucel, former national president of FIHNEC El Salvador. On behalf of the National Board of Directors and the entire membership of El Salvador, we raise a prayer to God for his eternal rest and we extend our condolences to his family,” the Fraternity said on its Facebook account.
Loucel was president of the defunct Channel 33 and founder of UTEC.
In July 2023, he received recognition from MINED authorities for his career in the area of education. “Honorable man, who for many years has dignified Salvadoran Higher Education, and in whose merit we are proud to share and accompany the development of our country; “His outstanding career as an exemplary citizen, family man, Rector, businessman and passionate about Salvadoran memory and history, are fascinating for the generations educated at his UTEC school,” said the Vice Minister of Education, Ricardo Cardona, on that occasion. .
Loucel was also an academic member of the Salvadoran Academy of History.
