Our media is changing its name and will add new content designed for the whole family, always maintaining its cultural and educational seal. Their first program will be broadcast live this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. from the Plaza de Los Artistas on Campus Talca. It is a symbolic moment, which is why a television set will be set up that will allow the public to live the experience of being in a live program.

The Director of Corporate Communications, Marcela Barros Morales, referred to this change, which has been in the works for several months. “We have made a transition that seems necessary to us, for a decade we have been CampusTV, but we believe that at the end of this period it is important to give the channel a boost and also give it an identity with the house of studies that welcomes and identifies us,” he said. .

“UTalcaTV is our new name, we want them to know us that way, see us in their homes through our different platforms and love the programming we deliver,” he added.

Their first program will be broadcast live this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. from the Plaza de Los Artistas on Campus Talca. It is a symbolic moment, which is why a television set will be set up that will allow the public to live the experience of being in a live program.

The broadcast will feature various interviewees, including the hosts and academics of its most emblematic productions who will review their history on the channel with anecdotes and a pleasant conversation. It will be a moment where, in addition, a report on the history of the channel will be shown and prizes will also be awarded to those who participate on their social networks.

New programs

Immediately after the live broadcast, at 1:00 p.m., the premieres of several programs will be broadcast. The first to debut will be “Simple and Nutritious”, a space created in conjunction with the School of Nutrition and Dietetics. In each academic chapter of that race they will show preparations of delicious, healthy, nutritious and easy-to-make meals.

Then viewers will be able to see “Ciencia Contigo”, an interview program recorded in the studios of the Radio Stations of the University of Talca and hosted by the Director of Corporate Communications, Marcela Barros. Various professors from the institution will talk about research of massive interest such as climate change and artificial intelligence, among others.

“We have made a close alliance with the different schools, faculties, institutes and research centers of the University of Talca, with the aim of bringing the knowledge that is born there to our audience. We have programs that are very entertaining to watch, that are made with high technical quality and a tremendous professional human team,” Barros stressed.

Also on that premiere day, another highly successful program returns and is broadcast on these screens, thanks to an agreement with the Maule Productive Development Corporation, it is the second season of “Discover Maule on TV” that shows various places tourists in the region.

History

Our University began with its first television project in 1995. At that stage it was called Universidad de Talca Televisión (UTT), which was a miscellaneous medium that could be seen through one of the cable company’s signals. VTR.

Later in 2013, the television project was resumed with the creation of CampusTV, the first HD channel in the Maule Region that focused its editorial line on cultural and educational content, aligning itself with the social and cultural role of the Institution.

In these 10 years the channel has had uninterrupted transmissions, with more than 40 self-produced programs that stand out for their content linked to education, science, health, technology, innovation, art and culture.

It currently transmits through regional frequency number 15, open. In March 2021 it began broadcasting in Curicó, and since 2022 it is part of the cable operator Mundo’s channel grid, which allows it to reach other communes in Maule.

Since this year, the channel has also managed to position several of its programs nationally, thanks to a recent agreement with TV Senate, which broadcasts cultural and educational content throughout the country as part of its programming.
