In the Café Gallery Úštěk, Suchý exhibits a cross-section of his graphic works. The founder of Prague’s Semafor theater has been working in graphics since 1947. He started as a creator of small advertisements, and continued with graphic designs for posters for his performances. He also became a skilled draftsman. He uses lithography as a graphic technique.
But almost everyone knows him as a poet, lyricist, writer, clown, actor, filmmaker, singer, composer, musician, director and graphic artist. Jiří Suchý mastered all this in his lifetime.
He is not new to Úštěk, he already exhibited in the gallery more than ten years ago. He also remembered that he had performed here with a theater decades ago. He revealed that he is no stranger to other places in Litoměřice, as he has a cottage nearby where he spends his summer days.
The exhibition will last until October 18.
