Whenever creating an account anywhere in the Internet world, the service instructs you to create a strong (hard to crack) password. Such passwords usually contain a number, a symbol or an uppercase letter, but hackers still manage to crack it.
Tech experts have suggested a method that would take hackers about 3,700 attempts to crack a password, and that is to add emoji to your password.
There are more than 3600 emojis in Unicode and using five emojis is equivalent to a normal password of 9 characters or using seven emojis is equivalent to a strong password of 13 characters.
Such a password can be almost impossible to guess and easier for people to remember than meaningless words and numbers.
Stan Kaminski of Casper Sky, a cybersecurity company that shares key password information, said in a blog post that there are a number of hacking tools and dictionaries for cracking passwords that contain combinations of words, numbers and common wildcard characters.
They said that when an attacker sees the leaked password database, your account will be protected with a hard password (using emojis equivalent to a phrase).
He said that using phrases with emoticons as passwords is a great way to do it.
