Using Art Therapy to Narrate Your Breast Surgery Experience | Join SBC Community!

Join us for a 90-minute art therapy workshop, led by amazing breast cancer survivor and art therapist Stephanie, LCPC and founder of Creative Transformations. You can use basic art supplies or work on your breast cast during active art time. If this is your first art therapy workshop, take a look at the recording of the Introduction to Art Therapy workshop. You don’t need to be artistically talented to benefit from this practice, all you need are some basic art therapy materials and an open mind.

Breast cancer affects our body image, identity, and intimacy with ourselves and with others. This workshop will guide you through a guided meditation and art experience that can lay the foundation for healing body image and identity.

You can use basic art supplies. If this is your first art therapy workshop, check out the recording of the workshop Introduction to art therapy. You don’t need to be artistically talented to benefit from this practice, all you need are some basic art supplies and an open mind.

Bill of Materials in General

Spiral art square with blank sheets, any size you like.

Wax paper

Collage, glue, scissors, papers, etc.

Choose one of the following materials:

pencils, crayons

Watercolor crayons or markers

Wax crayons

Dry pastel crayons or oil

Charcoal

watercolors

acrylic painting

Any other craft supplies you have on hand that you want to use

Trust your instinct, there are no right or wrong materials, the more you practice, the more you will understand your creative wisdom.
