Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to meet with his American counterpart Joe Biden after talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, said TASS Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov.
Mr. Xi arrived in Moscow yesterday, March 20. He began his visit with an informal meeting with Vladimir Putin that lasted four and a half hours.
Earlier today, on March 21, talks between the leaders of China and Russia in an expanded format began at the Grand Kremlin Palace. In addition to Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, the talks are attended by members of the government, the Security Council, and the heads of large private and state-owned companies. From the Russian side, vice-premiers, ministers of the economic bloc, heads of Rosneft and Rosatom joined the talks.
Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin last met in Geneva on June 16, 2021, as part of the Russia-US summit. Following the talks, the leaders of the two states adopted a joint statement on strategic stability.
