User report update renders Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 unusable – Tablets and Phones – News

Users report that a recent update renders the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 unusable. The phone ends up in a bootloop right after unlocking. The cause appears to be a Qualcomm service running in the background.

Operation XDA Developers in Reddit many users report the problem. It appears that the com.qualcomm.location service keeps crashing until it runs out of memory and the phone initiates a reboot. With that reboot, users end up in recovery.

Users can use the service Try disabling via ADB, but they need to have USB debugging enabled first and that proves to be a challenge before the phone reboots. Many users report that it worked anyway.

Xiaomi has not publicly acknowledged the issue, but has released an update since the issue surfaced last week that fixes it. This is Miui version 13.0.5.0 for the phone. It is unknown if more models are affected by the bug.
