Prominent rock musician Bob Dylan has been sued in New York, and the plaintiff in this case alleges that Dylan sexually abused her in 1965, when she was only 12 years old.
The case filed on Friday alleges that Dylan sexually abused the girl, referred to in the case file as JC, during a six-week period in April and May 1965.
It says Dylan “used his status as a musician to procure JC’s alcohol and drugs and to sexually exploit him many times.”
Dylan, whose real name is Robert Cimmermans and who turned 80 in May, is also accused of physically threatening JC in this case.
Sexual abuse took place in Dylan’s apartments at New York’s famous Chelsea Hotel.
Dylan’s spokesman told USA Today that the accusation was false and would be vigorously refuted.
The plaintiff, who lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, said that Dylan had caused her “severe psychological harm and emotional trauma.” She is claiming compensation of unknown amount.
