For comparison: ten years ago it was only around 1,700 tons. The city attributes the significant increase in quantities to the declining quality and thus the declining lifespan of clothing, keyword ‘fast fashion’. It is said that there is a blatant over-consumption in the clothing sector. There are no longer any buyers for an ever-increasing proportion of old clothes. Alternatively, you can donate old clothes to charitable organizations. But they too are currently oversupplied. It would make sense if we were to pay attention to high-quality, durable clothing when shopping or to buy second-hand goods ourselves through second-hand shops.
