In the first four months of this year, 14,632 used cars were registered in Latvia, which is 8.8% less than in the corresponding period of 2022, according to information gathered by the Auto Association.
Among the used cars, the most popular in the first four months of 2023 were “BMW” brand cars – 2,274 such vehicles were registered, which is 15.5% of all registered used cars. The number of registered used “BMW” cars decreased by 15.8% in the corresponding period.
Followed by “Volvo” – 2220 such vehicles were registered (15.2% market share), which is a decrease of 0.3%, “VW” – 2074 cars (14.2% market share), which is a decrease of 10.2% , and “Audi” – 1,499 such used cars were registered, which is 10.2% of all registered used cars and 22.1% less than in the first four months of last year.
The five most popular used car brands are rounded off by “Opel” with 862 cars of this brand, which is a 5.9% market share. In the first four months of this year, 10.1% fewer used Opel cars were registered than in the corresponding period of 2022.
The most popular used passenger car model was “BMW 3-Series” – 722 such cars were registered, followed by “BMW 5-Series” with 535 vehicles, “Volvo XC60” with 484 vehicles, “Audi A4” with 443 vehicles and “Audi A6”. with 423 cars.
The Auto Association unites motor vehicle manufacturers, motor vehicle component and spare parts manufacturers, importers, authorized car dealers, authorized motor vehicle repair and maintenance service providers.
