The average age of all passenger used cars, regardless of their origin, was 9.1 years this year, which is less than five months less year-on-year. However, behind the reduced average of cars sold is Czech used cars, which have become younger by more than a year, as young and brand-new cars from operational leasing have started to enter the market again. The market thus began to stabilize again in this respect as well.
The average time of selling a used car increased this year from 61 days last year to 63 days, but this is a decrease compared to the first quarter of this year, as the average time of sale from January to March was 65 days. Faster sales were helped, among other things, by a slight reduction in selling prices.
The average value on the tachometers of sold used vehicles was 147,000 km this year, 2,000 km less year-on-year. Due to the influx of younger used cars, according to Pajero, the average mileage could drop more. “The reason why this did not happen is probably more frequent tachometers or higher readings, as the influx of young cars outweighs the increasing share of older cars,” he pointed out.
The best-selling model was the Škoda Octavia with a share of 9.8 percent. Other Škoda Fabia and Superb models followed. Among used cars, cars with a diesel engine are still the most common, with a share of 49.6 percent, but they have not made up the majority of the offer for a long time. Used gasoline cars represented 46.4 percent of the market. Electric cars made up less than a percent of the offer (0.88 percent).
