Use the Red and White Heli, President Jokowi Arrives in Kapuas

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com President Joko Widodo make a working visit to the Province Central Kalimantan, Thursday (07/08/2020) morning.

Arrived at 08.45 WIB at Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province, President Jokowi directly towards the Air Force’s Super Puma Helicopter to the Regency Kapuas.

However, there is something different with the Presidential Helicopter carrying the President. The helicopter was painted red and white like the color of the Indonesian flag.

Quoted from the Palace’s official press release, the red and white helicopter is not a new unit.

It was a helicopter that the President used during work visits, but has now been repainted as part of maintenance.

Military Secretary (Sesmil) President Maj. Gen. Suharyanto said, in March he reported to the President that the helicopter had to go into routine maintenance.

“The president advised that besides periodic maintenance it is also given a different nuance that is more ‘Indonesian’ to the helicopter,” Suharyanto said.

Previously, the helicopter was dominated by blue. Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said red and white paint was chosen at the same time to welcome the 75th Indonesian Independence Day.

“We decided to change the color to red and white and the President agreed. This color was also chosen to brighten the 75th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, “said Heru.

In the flight to Kapuas Regency, the health protocol is still prioritized. In the helicopter carrying the President usually filled by 10 people, this time only filled 5 people.

The President was only accompanied by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and three other attachments, namely Paspampres Commander Maj. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Group A Commander of Paspampres Colonel Inf. Achiruddin, and Aide to President Col. Inf. Rudi Saladin.
