Through its social networks, the sanitary portfolio announced this Wednesday that the National Directorate of Sanitary Surveillance (DNVS) approved application in children of the vaccine Coronavac, from the Sinovac laboratory.
As explained Marie Antoinette Gamarra, National Director of Sanitary Surveillance, reports on the use of the vaccine in children in Chile gave favorable results and therefore it was approved in Paraguay.
“They sent us interesting results in terms of adverse effects in children and also resolution. We are going to take into account all the information from reference organizations ”, he pointed out.
With this approval the two vaccines approved for use in children are Pfizer and Coronavac. In addition, authorization for the use of the Sinhoparm vaccine is being processed.
Both the Pfizer and Coronavac vaccines will be given to children between the ages of five and 11, he said.
Anticovid vaccination continues
Currently, adolescents from 12 to 17 years old are invited to apply the first anticovid dose, who receive the Pfizer or Moderna platform, while from 18 years onwards they receive doses of the available platform.
On the other hand, those who have completed three weeks since the first injection of Pfizer and four weeks of Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sputnik V, Coronavac and Sinopaharm can apply their second dose.
The third dose is applied to those who have completed four months from the application of the second dose.
The vaccinations will attend until Friday, December 31, without considering the termination of the identity card number.
